Expertise
Strong background in Object-Oriented programming such as C++, VisualBasic.NET, PHP, and JAVA. As well I have experience in Database Systems such as; MS Access, and MySQL . Furtheremore, I gained good experince in mobile devices programming ( CDC, CLDC, Midlet and MMAPI). I have also experince with Web services based on JAX-RPC, SOAP and XML. Moreover, I am familiar with new web development concepts and approaches such as AJAX and reverse AJAX.

Education

I have a M.Sc. in Digital Media from the International School of New Media at Luebeck University 2005-2007. I have also a bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Computer Systems Engineering from the Palestine Polytechnic University 1999 – 2004. My master thesis was concerned about providing media services in the museum and exhibition environments. As results, the Medient Infrastructure (a ubiquitous infrastructure for contextualised exhibition services) was developed. In order to complete my undergraduate studies I had to realize a hardware and software final project. For my hardware graduation project I created an Internet-Based Robot Control System. The main idea was to control a robot using the Internet to capture images which were then sent via the web. My software graduation project titled Digital Signal Processing Center was an application which is based on Web and Image Processing technologies.

Bio

I have been awarded DAAD scholarship (Deutscher Akademischer Austauschdienst) to pursue a M.Sc. in Digital Media at the International School of Digital Media in Germany between the period of 2005-2007. Currently, I am working as a research associate at Infolab21 - Lancaster University. Lately, I was working as a research assistant at the International School of Digital Media. I have been involved in a number of interesting project in the area of pervasive and ubiquitous computing such as, and not limited to, Medient Infrastructure, eyeJOT, Pictory and Campus Memories. Previously I was as a Computer Lab Assistant at the Palestine Polytechnic University. During this time I worked on many hardware projects which utilized windows and web based application programming. One of our major projects was a ‘Breast-Cancer Detection System’.

Focus

My current field of interest is developing, testing and evaluating ubiquitous computing applications and frameworks. The major aim is to support learning, business and educational scenarios.
